A suspected murder suspect believed to be barricaded inside a home in Harlingen triggers a standoff.
Just after midnight Friday morning, Harlingen Police received a family violence call at a home near Rio Hondo and High Streets where a man had struck two people in the home.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, matched another fugitive wanted for murder.
Harlingen Police called for the assistance of the Texas Department of Public Safety, or DPS, just in case the alleged suspect fled on foot.
A SWAT team was on stand-by.
Once SWAT made entry into the home, they learned the man involved in the family violence incident was not the suspected murderer wanted by police.
Both suspects did have the same, so precautionary measures were taken.
No one was injured.
The man will be arraigned later Friday on two counts Class C Assault.
