An anonymous citizen journalist is being credited for posting a video tour of a bullet ridden town across the border from the Rio Grande Valley.
A gun battle was reported there last week.
A video posted to YouTube on Sunday features a woman and a man driving in their car armed with a camera.
The two narrate what happened there and show bullet ridden SUVs and bloodstains from the battle in Camargo, a city across from Rio Grande City in Starr County.
The original user deleted their video for unknown reasons but other YouTube users copied the video and posted it on their profiles.
The border is experiencing a surge of violence as the Mexican government cracks down on drug cartels.
Sources have also confirmed a turf war between rival cartels south of the border in Tamaulipas.
