Have plans for the 4th of July weekend?Why not head to San Benito for the second annual Resacafest?Helping to put on the event is Carol Sanchez who stopped by Monday morning to share what activities you and your family can take part in.Resacafest itself will take place on Saturday, July 6th second annual.It will take place from 4pm to 11pm at the Heavin Memorial Park & Amphitheater in San Benito.There will be live music, karaoke, group performances, a dog show, Sparkey/Robot appearance for the kids, concessions, Arts & Crafts vendors, Corporate Vendors, a Bike Show, kid games, and a firework show to end the night. Admission is free to the public.There will also be a 5k run/walk which will take place that morning at the Heavin Resaca Trail.
Registration begins at 7am, Runners begins at 8:30am, and Walkers begins at 9am. Fee is $25 for runners and $15 for walkers.
Everyone will receive a completion medal and a t-shirt, along with a special award for the first top three runners in each race.
Participants can pre-register at the San Benito Annex Building at 401 N Bowie, behind the old post office. We will be accepting on site participants the day of the event for the fee of $35.
