Senor Taco on 1421 North Westgate in Weslaco gets shutdown by the health department after scoring 38 demerits during an inspection.

The restaurant is closed for 5 days on November 8th.

A report indicates the violations include no hairnets, beans on the floor, off-temperature food and roaches.

The insect contamination is discovered in the kitchen near storage, according to the inspector.

      A re-inspection on the 13th still shows 15 demerits.

The city inspector says he TMll be back.

Luis Martinez is Senor Taco's newest cook.

"Well, we have to keep it clean and get a better inspection," he told Action 4's Ryan Wolf.

Kato Sushi on 1402 South Jackson Road in McAllen is cooking up demerits with 22 on a November 5th inspection.

The violations include improper thawing of shrimp, missing labels on fish and crab meat in the freezer, no towels for proper sanitation in the prep area and an expired food permit.

Owner Emilio Alonzo says he's disappointed with score and is making changes to ensure proper standards.

"I'm going to be more present," he told the Food Patrol.

Tienda Emmanuel convenience store on 1201 North FM 491 in Mercedes isn't keeping it clean with 21 demerits.

An inspector finds improper hand-washing, missing labels for foods, cross-contamination concerns and toxic items improperly stored on November 12th.

Daniella Cantu, store worker, takes the Food Patrol into the kitchen.

She says the store is working to get up to code.

"They took away the coolers that were broken and made sure to properly label foods for better practices," Daniella said. "Things are better."

PF Chang's on 3100 Expressway 83 in McAllen is this week's featured top performer with a zero demerit inspection score.

Diners love the orange peel chicken and garlic noodles, but a new sticker on door is something that's just as pleasing, according to Jacob Morales.

"It makes me feel like I want to come back often and I'll be doing that," he said.

You know what the Food Patrol says to that-"Keep it clean!"
