Reynosa residents report dawn to dusk drug cartel violence

Reynosa residents took to social media networks to report drug cartel violence from early Thursday morning and then again late in the afternoon.

It all started around 5:30 a.m. Thursday with reports of gunfire in the Bermudes, Cumbres and Fuentes neighborhoods in west Reynosa.

One resident posted a video with heavy gunfire an smoke of the pre-dawn shootout to YouTube.

It's not clear if anyone was killed or injured in gun battle.

Residents also used the #reynosafollow hashtag of Twitter to report a chase and more gunfire around 4:40 p.m. Thursday in the Los Muros neighborhood.

Area residents reported that a soldier had been injured in the firefight with armed criminals.

Authorities are not confirming any information about the shootouts at this time.
