Rick Perry expected to surrender on abuse of power charges

Indicted Texas Gov. Rick Perry is expected to surrender, get booked and then have his mugshot and fingerprints taken.

CBS News reported that the Republican governor is expected to surrender around 5 p.m. today.

Perry was indicted last Friday on two felony counts of abuse of power.

CBS News reported that defense attornes for Perry call the charges "outlandish" and "wrong."

Perry himself has said the indictment is an "outrageous" abuse of power by the Travis County public integrity unit.

A judge decided Monday not to issue an arrest warrant allowing the governor to surrender in the company of attorneys.
