It took Rio Grande City police nearly two weeks to track down any leads as to who could've murdered a Mexican immigrant on December 6th.
The killers left the body of 28-year-old Jose Antonio Salinas-Sanchez in an alley.
Authorities arrested 28-year-old Lizbeth Hinojosa Garcia for the Guanajuato man TMs murder on Wednesday.
A motive is not clear but investigators said they learned Salinas-Sanchez was an illegal immigrant.
Detectives learned that Salinas-Sanchez had family and a fianc in Chicago.
Rio Grande City Police Chief Dutch Piper told Aciton 4 News that the immigrant was on his way to get married.
Chief Piper said Salinas-Sanchez was in a vehicle with three other men when they pulled up to Garcia TMs home.
Investigators said she walked out of the house yelling at the group and pointed a gun at them.
Garcia allegedly fired twice at the vehicle with one of those shots fatally wounding Salinas-Sanchez.
Chief Piper said there doesn't seem to be a connection between the two or between Garcia and the three other men inside the car at the time Salinas-Sanchez was shot.
Garcia is not cooperating with investigators and refuses to answer any questions investigators have about why fired the gun.
Investigators charged the mother of two with murder and attempted capital murder.
Garcia appeared before a judge on Thursday morning where she was issued $2 million dollars in bonds.
