Authorities have temporarily shut down the Los Ebanos International Ferry due to rising water in the Rio Grande River.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers shut down the border crossing around 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
Customs officers said all local traffic will be re-routed to the nearby surrounding ports of entry at Anzalduas International Bridge in Mission and the Rio Grande City-Camargo International Bridge.
The rising water in the river is attributed to the release of water from Falcon Dam.
Authorities said the Los Ebanos ferry will be reopened when the water is at a safe level for operation.
