Weslaco 'Check 'n Go'

Police need your help catching the men they said broken into a "Check ~n Go" armed with a shotgun. Weslaco police said the whole incident happened in less than a minute. The burglars broke in by shooting the glass door with a shotgun, but ran out after an unsuccessful attempt to break open a safe.

The break-in happened after 1 a.m. at the Check ~n Go on North Westgate. The suspects were wearing hoodies when the broke into the store. On the surveillance video, the men are seen trying to take the store TMs safe with them before realizing it was impossible. Police said the break-in concerns them because of what they did to break in.

"They were brazen enough to fire, discharge a shotgun to try and gain entry. You never can tell their may have been someone sleeping in the back, Chief Michael Kelley with the Weslaco Police Department said.

Luckily, no one was in the store at the time of the break-in.

Police said they need the public TMs help to get the criminals off the street.
