Robbery suspect rams car through door of Alamo hotel

A robbery suspect is in custody after smashing his car into the front door of a hotel in Alamo.

It all happened at the Super 8 Motel off North Alamo Road and Expressway 83 around 2:30 a.m. Monday.

Investigators told Action 4 News that the man rammed his vehicle through the building's front doors to rob the place.

Alamo police said the man first tried to get through the lobby through the doors but the clerk refused to open the door.

The man allegedly got in his vehicle and rammed through the front doors.

Once inside, the robbery suspect allegedly stole a laptop and an undisclosed amount of cash.

When police arrived to the hotel, the man led them on a pursuit that ended at a restaurant parking lot in Pharr.

The driver suffered minor injuries but is in police custody.
