Robbery suspects crash after stealing beer, lottery ticket and money

At this hour Harlingen police are looking for a robbery suspect after a convenience store was held up at gunpoint.

Harlingen police confirmed that a robbery occurred Monday night at a Stripes Convenience Store on 7th street.

They told us four armed suspects walked in demanding cash and walked out with some beer, a lottery ticket and money.

Unfortunately for the group who was trying out their luck with a scratch-off, their fate turned out to be disastrous.

Harlingen officers told Action 4 the suspects were eventually busted after ensuing in a chase with police and crashing underneath Expressway 83 and Bass Boulevard around 1am Tuesday morning.

Witnesses told Action 4 that the alleged robbers were going up to 100 miles per hour and lost control.

Officers said three people were arrested shortly after the wreck but one person still remains at large.
