      Roommate arrested after assaulting woman about broken glass on floor

      A Los Fresnos woman was arrested for assault family violence and criminal mischief on Saturday evening.

      Betty Ann Taggart was rooming with a Los Fresnos couple when she allegedly became upset about broken glass and spilled water.

      Targgart allegedly broke items at a home she had been living in for a month because she stepped on broken glass in the home.

      She became upset with the homeowner and allegedly dropped the woman to the ground and started pulling her hair.

      While the woman was on the floor, she allegedly kicked the woman in her stomach.

      According to court documents obtained by Action 4 News, Targgart showed signs of being intoxicated.

      Targgart was arrested by the Cameron County Sheriff TMs Department and caused damage to the deputy TMs car.

      When she was being transported to jail, Targgart started kicking the glass window with both of her feet.

      According to the deputy, Targgart broke the rear passenger window, and it was caught on tape.

      The damage to the window is estimated at $500.

      Targgart TMs bond is set at $2,500 for each count.
