A round of thunderstorms dropped a good amount of rain in mainly the Rio Grande Valley including Cameron, Willacy, and Kenedy Counties.
Rain totals from the slow moving storms ranged from trace amounts in the lighter rains, to more than half an inch in the heavier areas.
The chance for rain isn TMt over yet. We TMre expecting a possibility for rain through the next few days as a deep tropical airmass persists with plenty of moisture and instability present.
The time frame for rain exists through the dawn to evening hours.
In particular the afternoon when daytime heating adds lift into the atmosphere.
Expect moderate to heavy rains in the strongest showers/storms, along with possible cloud to ground lightning and gusty winds.
Motorists, especially those on any of the major highways, should exercise caution and slow down when experiencing reduced visibilities. In addition, ponding on roadways will be possible.
