      RV park dispute ends in murder-suicide

      An argument between residents at Bentsen Grove Resort ends with two men dead.

      Hidalgo County Sheriff TMs Department told Action 4 News that residents Carl Lau and Richard Durst had a verbal dispute at Lau TMs residence Thursday afternoon.

      Witnesses told Hidalgo County Sheriff Deputies that 65-year-old Durst left Lau TMs property, but returned and shot 75-year-old Lau in the head.

      Lau TMs wife witnessed Durst drive away on his golf cart towards his home.

      According to deputies, while they were interviewing Mrs. Lau, they heard a gunshot south of Lau TMs residence.

      Deputies and Palmview police found Durst TMs body with a gauge shotgun.

      According to authorities, the gunshot was self inflicted.

      Lau was transported to McAllen Medical Center where Justice of Peace Luis Garza pronounced he was dead.

      Garza pronounced Durst dead at the scene.

      An autopsy was ordered for both men.

      About 400 people are currently residing at the resort.

      Bentsen Grove Resort residents are mostly winter texans.
