San Benito murder suspect gets 16 years in prison

      A San Benito murder suspect will spend 16 years in prison after pleading guilty to the death of a man inside a local mechanic shop.

      San Benito police arrested Martin Reyes back in June 2008 for the death of 42-year-old Jorge Alfredo Diaz.

      Police said the two had gotten into an argument at a mechanics shop where Diaz lived.

      Investigators told Action 4 News that 63-year-old Reyes turned around and went to work.

      Reyes worked as a maintenance man for a local apartment complex where he was found wearing blood-stained shoes and clothes.

      The San Benito man appeared before Judge Migdalia Lopez with the 197th state District Court on Tuesday where he entered a guilty plea for Diaz TMs death.

      Judge Lopez sentenced Reyes to 16 years in prison.
