A San Benito murder suspect will spend 16 years in prison after pleading guilty to the death of a man inside a local mechanic shop.

San Benito police arrested Martin Reyes back in June 2008 for the death of 42-year-old Jorge Alfredo Diaz.

Police said the two had gotten into an argument at a mechanics shop where Diaz lived.

Investigators told Action 4 News that 63-year-old Reyes turned around and went to work.

Reyes worked as a maintenance man for a local apartment complex where he was found wearing blood-stained shoes and clothes.

The San Benito man appeared before Judge Migdalia Lopez with the 197th state District Court on Tuesday where he entered a guilty plea for Diaz TMs death.

Judge Lopez sentenced Reyes to 16 years in prison.
