San Benito woman jailed for harassing text messages

      A San Benito woman is facing criminal charges after she allegedly harassed a man through a series of unwanted text messages.

      San Benito police arrested 38-year-old Monica Solis on a harassment by phone charge on Sunday evening.

      Investigators told Action 4 News that officers were called out to the 400 block of White Wing Street around 7:15 p.m. Sunday.

      A man at the scene told police that Solis kept sending him unwanted text messages to his cell phone.

      The man told her stop but she continued sending messages.

      Officers reported the Solis was uncooperative and arrested her at the scene.

      Solis appeared before a San Benito Municipal Court judge where she was given a $2,500 bond.

      Harassment by phone is a Class B misdemeanor, a crime punishable up to six months in jail and a $2,000 fine.
