San Juan police arrest armed teens before planned crime spree

San Juan police have arrested eight teen gang members before they were allegedly able to carryout a planned string of armed robberies.

Investigators told Action 4 News that officers received information that a group of teens were going to commit a drive by shooting at a local business.

Officers pulled over an SUV with eight juveniles on the 900 block of North Raul Longoria Road.

The teens allegedly had a short-barrel 12 gauge shotgun and a small amount of marijuana.

Police said officers learned that all the teens belonged to the Vallucos and Tri-City Bombers gangs and that they planned to go on a series of armed robberies.

The teens were all charged with attempted aggravated robbery, unlawful carrying of a weapon, engaging in organized criminal activity and possession of marijuana.
