This weekend marks the 25th anniversary of Sandcastle Days at South Padre Island.
Since its origins when a group of locals got together for a weekend competition to where it is now, a three day event that draws in artists from around the world.
Some of those sculptors have been around since those early days.
This year there are 20 competitors at the professional level and several amateurs have also committed to participating.
The event began Friday morning, and there are a lot of activities for family TMs to enjoy.
Family lessons, art vendors, treasure hunts and photo ops are just to name a few of the events going on over the weekend.
