Thu, 09 May 2013 13:27:00 GMT — Amigas Lions Club of Harlingen is sponsoring a blood drive this coming Saturday and they need you to step up and donate! It will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Wal-Mart parking lot, located at 1810 W. Lincoln St. Andi Atkinson and Helen Muse stopped by Action 4 Sunrise to talk more about the need for blood and the requirements to donate. Atkinson says most people don't realize that they can donate every eight weeks! To donate blood, a person must be at least 16-years-old and weigh a minimum of 110 lbs. Donors should eat a good meal prior to donating blood and bring a form of identification with them. For more information on the Amigas Lions Club blood drive or to schedule an appointment to donate, call Helen Muse at (956) 797-1816.
