Edinburg North High School Principal Ramiro Guerra has been terminated after a three-hour closed session of school board members.
An Action 4 News investigation revealed a claim of sexual harassment was made against Guerra earlier this month by an employee at the school.
According to incident reports, the woman, allegedly a teacher, accused Guerra of following her into her hotel room and making sexual advances while the two attended a conference in San Antonio.
She told police he made several advances towards her, but she refused. School board members met in closed session Tuesday for several hours and after 10 p.m. made the announcement that he would be terminated as principal.
Only Action 4 News was at the meeting to bring you the breaking details.
The school district declined to comment.
Guerra worked for the Edinburg school district for more than 30 years.
Administrators we spoke with Tuesday say he started his career as a coach and worked his way up to become principal of Edinburg North.
