Security increased ahead of Pea-Nieto visit to Reynosa
Authorities have increased security in Reynosa where Mexican President Enrique Pea-Nieto is expected to visit on Friday.
The Hoy Tamaulipas newspaper reported that Pea-Nieto is expected to visit the border city.
The newspaper reported that the Mexican president is expected to announce a $540 million peso project at the Laguna Escondida.
The area is home to a park, a cultural center, a soccer stadium and a large lake, which is being dredged and made deeper.
Hoy Tamaulipas reported that soldiers and police have increased patrols on the streets ahead of Pea-Nieto TMs visit.
