      Sending package with marijuana lands two in jail

      Authorities arrested a man and woman after a K-9 found narcotics hidden in packages.

      Rocky, the latest addition to the Harlingen Police Department, found a total of 25 pounds of marijuana in a vehicle and packages.

      Authorities told Action 4 that Yvette Lopez and Rogelio Zepeda exited a Blue 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer at a Quip N TM Quotes at 709 N. Business 77 Sunshine Strip.

      Investigators said that 21-year-old Lopez and 20-year-old Zepeda were suspicious as they left the vehicle.

      Police approached the man and woman with a K-9.

      A K-9 alerted drugs in the packages.

      Lopez , Zepeda and the vehicle were taken to the Harlingen Police Department.

      Police used a search warrant and found almost 13 pounds of marijuana in the packages and almost 13 pounds in the Trailblazer.

      Authorities arrested Lopez and Zepeda for possession of marijuana, a third degree felony.

      Police booked them in the Harlingen City Jail.

      A bond for Lopez was set at $5,000 and $10,000 for Zepeda.
