Serial robber gets $0.5 million bond

A Harlingen man, who confessed to robbing a convenience store, admitted to robbing two San Benito drive-thru TMs.
Alberto Martinez-Valles was arrested by Harlingen police on July 12 for possession of marijuana.
During an interview with investigators, the 21-year-old confessed to robbing a Valero Convenience Store at gunpoint.
While being held in the Cameron County Jail, San Benito Detectives learned of Valles TM aggravated robbery charge.
Investigators questioned Valles about two early July robberies of Kiko TMs and Rosie TMs drive-thru.
Valles admitted to being a part of both drive-thru robberies.
A Court Magistrate issued $500,000 worth of bonds to Valles.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has an immigration detainer on the 21-year-old.
