Judge Rosa Trevino announced her retirement from her position as Justice of the Peace for Hidalgo County Precinct 2 Place 2.
It TMs a bitter sweet time for me at this moment, she said.
Trevino started her career with Hidalgo County 38-years-ago as a court coordinator for the 93rd District Court.
At 74-years-old she said she has seen more than most.
I TMve see death every day, sudden death, she said.
But it TMs the death of her late husband, Eloy Trevino, that drove her to the decision to retire.
What I am right now, he made me, Trevino said.
Her husband has stood by her side since the first time she ran for JP in the 90 TMs.
He was a wonderful husband, companion and father, Trevino said.
During her career, Trevino became known as a person of compassion, always willing to help anyone in need.
She TMs been a pillar in our community, Constable Martin Cantu, Hidalgo County Precinct 2, said.
Her giving nature has been rewarded.
She TMs been recognized by several organizations and predominant people, including the president.
Her legacy speaks volumes of what she TMs meant to the community she TMs served.
She tells Action 4 she plans on continuing her service until the end of her term in December 2014.
She hopes whoever replaces her, does justice to the position.
They are expecting somebody here, to do exactly what I TMve been doing for 23 years, she said. And that TMs serving the people.
