Sheriff's Office: Narcotics seizure results in 3 arrests
Deputies on Wednesday arrested three people accused of possessing more than 86 pounds of narcotics, according to Cameron County Sheriff Omar Lucio.
Deputies say they received a tip Tuesday regarding suspicious activity at the Brownsville Country Club. On Wednesday, deputies set up surveillance and stopped a suspect vehicle for a traffic violation.
The driver reportedly admitted he had contraband in the back of the vehicle, where deputies found about eight pounds of cocaine.
During a search of a house, deputies found an additional four pounds of cocaine and 74 pounds of marijuana.
Deputies arrested three people and seized two vehicles, along with a gold-plated pistol.
Twenty-seven-year-old Priscilla Coronado Esquivel, 27-year-old Jaime Melendez and 33-year-old Irving Ramirez Rodriguez were charged with possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances.
More charges are expected to be filed, Lucio said
