The Starr County Sheriff’s Office confirms that a truck found on fire on Wednesday is the same vehicle two missing teens were reportedly last seen in, according to Maj. Carlos Delgado, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.

At about 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, Starr County deputies met with a mother who stated that both of her sons, 17-year-old Mario Alberto Garza and 19-year-old Rosbel Garza, left the house in a grey Dodge Dakota single cab at about 9 a.m., but had not returned.

Deputies say earlier in the day at about 4 p.m., they responded to a vehicle on fire on La Sagunada Road, about four miles west of Farm-to-Market-Road 755.

Preliminary investigation reveals a mid-size pickup truck was driven through a gate before it struck a mesquite tree and left to burn.

Delgado believes the teens may be in danger. The case remains under investigation.

The Starr County Sheriff's Office asks anyone with information about the Garzas' whereabouts to call 956-487-5571.
