Showing off marijuana in class lands high school student in jail

A Harlingen High School Student is behind bars after he was allegedly showing off marijuana in class.

Robert Salinas was arrested at school on Tuesday around 8:30 a.m., after campus crime stoppers received a tip about the marijuana.

A uniformed Harlingen police officer was working at Harlingen High School, and was contacted by campus security.

According to the Harlingen Police Department, an administrative search was conducted after Salinas was escorted to the security office.

A total of 1.5 grams of marijuana was found and secured as evidence.

He was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana in a drug free zone.

Salinas TM bond was set at $1,000 for the Class A Misdemeanor.
