A federal judge sentenced six men to more than 17 years in prison for kidnapping a jewelry store owner TMs son and holding him for ransom.

The six kidnapping suspects all appeared before U.S. District Court Judge Randy in McAllen on Monday afternoon.

Judge Crane sentenced the six suspects to different terms in federal prison:

The six were all convicted in a plot where they kidnapped the 19-year-old son of a Rio Grande Valley jewelry store owner back on November 7th.

Federal prosecutors reported that they demanded a $700,000 ransom but the FBI and McAllen police arrested five suspects.

The 19-year-old victim was released unharmed on November 8th.

Prosecutors reported that Rivera-Guillen got the highest sentenced after being identified as the group TMs leader.
