Firefighters responded to a house fire after reports from neighbors indicated they smelled smoke in the area.
The house blaze happened in Harlingen on Parkwood Drive around 8:55 a.m.
When firefighters arrived, they found the home engulfed in flames.
Approximately 10 firefighters responded to the Harlingen home and the fire was under control by 11:00 a.m.
According to the Harlingen Fire Department, the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
Neighbors said they believe the house was vacant, and they told Action 4 News the house if often rented out.
No one was home at the time of the fire, and authorities are still investigating what might have caused the blaze.
The Harlingen Fire Department, along with their three fire trucks are at the scene working to put out "hot spots" at the home.
It is unknown at this time how much damage the home sustained during the fire.
