      A soldier traded in his military fatigues for a different type of uniform.

      Action 4 News cameras were invited for the special moment at Pea Elementary School in Peitas.

      Garza, who had served in Iraq but is currently stationed in Fort Hood, was in the Rio Grande Valley on Friday.

      It had been months since the Valley man had seen his family.

      The soldier dad dressed up as the school TMs Coyote mascot to surprise his son.

      Tears streamed from the faces of both father and son after the surprise.

      Garza said living apart from his family is difficult but he was glad the school provided him with the opportunity.
