Another defendant in the Panama Unit scandal is asking a federal judge to postpone their sentencing past the holidays.
Alexis Espinoza filed a motion on Friday asking U.S. District Court Judge Randy Crane to postpone his December 19th sentencing.
Espinoza, the son of Hidalgo Police Chief Rudy Espinoza, is one of 12 people convicted in the corruption scandal.
Federal agents originally arrested Espinoza and eight other law enforcement officials for working with three drug traffickers.
Espinoza claims his score on a pre-sentencing report is high and wants more time to prepare for a defense at sentencing.
Among the other suspects is Jonathan Trevio, son of Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevio.
Trevio is also asking Judge Crane to postpone the sentencing past the holidays.
Judge Crane has not issued a reply or handed down a decision.
