South Asians among immigrants found in Alamo stash house
Authorities are investigating a human smuggling network after finding immigrants from India, Bangladesh and Nepal inside a stash house in Alamo.
U.S. Border Patrol agents led a raid at a home on the 400 block of Cameo Circle around 4:30 p.m Wednesday.
Investigators found 52 immigrants from Mexico, Central American, India, Bangladesh and Nepal inside the house.
The immigrants are being processed for deportation while one suspect smuggler remains behind bars.
Investigators told Action 4 News that the FBI, Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office and Alamo Police Department all participated in the raid.
