Southmost man jailed for attacking wife carrying baby

A Southmost man is behind bars after a domestic violence incident where he allegedly hit his wife while she was holding their baby.

Brownsville police arrested 25-year-old Oscar Aaron Garza on multiple criminal charges early Monday morning.

It all happened at the couple's home off La Posada Drive in the Southmost area of Brownsville.

Investigators told Action 4 News that Garza woke up his sleeping wife by hitting in the face around 3:30 a.m. Monday.

The couple argued and the woman left the room with their baby.

Garza allegedly continued to hit her even though she was holding the child.

Police said Garza took the phone away from his wife while she was trying to call 9-11.

Officers arrested Garza on assault family violence, child endangerment and interfering with 9-11 call charges.
