Spa owner charged for her role in "fake botox" investigation

A local spa owner is facing criminal charges after she allegedly admitting to allowing a woman to use her facilities to give harmful and fake Botox injections.

Accompanied by her attorney, By Grace Spa owner Graciela Trevio Leon turned herself in to Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office deputies.

The 58-year-old businesswoman has been charged with practicing medicine without a license.

Investigators told Action 4 News that Leon allowed Nohemi Mimi Gonzalez to advertise and give injection treatments at Leon's spa.

Gonzalez is facing a growing amount of charges after deputies learned she was deceiving people by injecting rubber silicone into them instead of Botox.

Several people have come forward with medical problems following the treatments while investigators believe one person may have died.

Leon allegedly gave a full confession where she admitted to accepting money from Gonzalez.

The McAllen businesswoman faced a judge at the Hidalgo County Jail where she was issued a $75,000 bond.
