Spirit of the Valley: Taking Action 4 Hurricane Sandy Victims

Sat, 10 Nov 2012 15:49:39 GMT — Action 4 News, KURV and HEB are teaming up with the American Red Cross to launch a disaster relief drive for all the victims of Hurricane Sandy and the nor TMeaster. As of Friday, Superstorm Sandy killed at least 85 people. More than a week after the story, thousands are still suffering from Sandy, the nor TMeaster and the gas shortage continues. The local American Red Cross South Texas Chapter has had 12 volunteers, its Emergency Relief Vehicle and two employees in affected area for the last two week. Another will be deployed to the area sometime next week. The Spirit of the Valley: Taking Action 4 Hurricane Sandy Victims kicks off Monday, November 12th. We will be collecting monetary donations over the next two weeks to help the millions affected. One-hundred percent of the donations go directly to the victims. You can stop by any HEB to donate -- $1, $3, or $5 dollars --- at any the register! You can also TEXT 90999 |and type in ~RED CROSS TM to make a $10 donation from your mobile phone. On Wednesday, November 14th, Action 4 News will be LIVE at area HEB stores collecting donations.
