Stabbed 20-year-old found in 'a pool of blood'

Chelsea Garcia found stabbed in her Weslaco home.

A 20-year-old woman remains in critical condition after being stabbed multiple times on Sunday morning.

Weslaco Police said Chelsea Garcia was airlifted to the hospital after being found lying in a pool of blood on the bathroom floor in her own house.

When EMS responded to the 2000 block of Corpus Christi Drive at 4 a.m. on Sunday, they found Garcia stabbed in the chest and suffered wounds to her back, head and arms.

Although Garcia was found inside the home, Investigators believe she may have been stabbed in the front yard of the home due to blood stains in the yard.

Weslaco Police said another woman who lives at the home contacted authorities after she found the victim.

EMS responders had to breech a fence gate in order to get into the property.

A helicopter took the 20-year-old to McAllen Medical Center.

Garcia spoke to authorities on Monday at McAllen Medical Center.

Investigators said the case is progressing.

Police said the attack was considered "very vicious".
