      Stabbing reported in McAllen's 17th Street District

      Authorities are investigating a stabbing that reportedly took place in McAllen TMs 17th Street District early Sunday morning.

      The McAllen Monitor reported that it all happened off 17th Street and Dallas Avenue around 3 a.m. Sunday.

      McAllen Police Chief Victor Rodriguez told the Monitor that a man showed up with stab wounds at the Doctor TMs Hospital at Renaissance.

      The Monitor reported that the injuries were not life-threatening but doctors called police prompting an investigation.

      McAllen's 17th Street Distirct, which is lined with bars and night clubs, is a popular destination on weekends.
