Stamp out hunger

On Saturday, May 11, 2013, Campbell Soup Company will again join forces with the National Association of Letter Carriers in an effort to Stamp Out Hunger across America.

The nation's largest single-day food drive provides assistance to the millions of Americans who are struggling to put food on the table every day.

In 2012, drive organizers across the country collected more than 70 million pounds of total food donations for the ninth consecutive year.

Carlos Rodriguez Jr. and Efrain Caros stopped by Action 4 Sunrise to talk more about this great cause.

Households are asked to leave a sturdy bag containing non-perishable food items, such as canned soup, canned vegetables, peanut butter, pasta, or cereal, next to their mailbox prior to regular mail delivery on Saturday.

Local letter carriers will collect these food donations as they deliver the mail and take them to the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley.
