Action 4 News was first on the scene.

Palmview police said the ordeal first started with a home invasion south of Showers Road on Boganvillia.

Then the two suspects barricaded themselves inside their own home just a few streets away.

Officers told Action 4 News the victim of the home invasion called them after two men broke into her home Saturday.

"The homeowner described the suspects trying to come into her residence and subsequently fired some rounds of a handgun to protect her property," said Lt. Saul Uvalle of the Palmview Police Department

"At points [the suspects] did open the door would come out and taunt police to come and get them," recalled Lt. Uvalle.

Investigators believe Lucas and Jesus Ortiz called a friend to pick them up after the home invasion, but their getaway driver was quickly apprehended by officers, who were surveying the area.
