A Starr County man has used a trust to claim a $4 million dollar lotto ticket that was sold at a convenience store in Rio Grande City.
Texas Lottery officials confirmed on Friday morning that the March 20th Lotto Texas ticket was claimed by the DEME Revocable Trust.
The trust TMs ticket was the only ticket sold to match all six numbers drawn: 4 " 10 " 35 " 38 " 41 " 49.
The winning ticket was sold for the lotto's annual payment option meaning that the prize will be paid in 25 annual installments.
Records list Starr County resident Daniel Enrique Escamilla as the trustee.
When they told me someone won the lotto with their own numbers at the store where I buy my tickets, I started to think maybe it was me, Escamilla told lottery officials. We are very thankful for our good fortune.
The winning ticket was sold at a Stripes convenience store at 2798 West Highway 83 in Rio Grande City.
The store is eligible for a $40,000 retailer bonus for selling the winning ticket.
