Video: State trooper hospitalized after hit-and-run crash in Edinburg

Investigators are looking for more information into a hit-and-run crash that left a state trooper hospitalized on Saturday, according to a news release from the Texas Department on Public Safety.

A DPS unit that was stationed to enforce traffic laws on the southbound shoulder on I-69C, south of Iowa Road, was struck by a white flatbed truck at approximately 12:51 a.m on Saturday.

The driver of the truck hit the left side of the trooper's unit, failed to stop and render aid, and fled the scene of the crash, according to the news release.

The trooper was transported to an Edinburg hospital for treatment, and has since been released.

The Texas Department of Public Safety adds that the white flatbed truck should have damage to its right side.
