Stolen school supplies land woman behind bars
A 34-year-old woman is facing criminal charges after being accused of stealing school supplies at a local WalMart.
San Benito police arrested Yvette Lopez on a Class B misdemeanor charge on Sunday evening.
Investigators told Action 4 News that officers were called to the WalMart off Business 77 at 7:21 p.m. Sunday.
Store security had detained Lopez for shoplifting about $78.41 worth of school supplies.
The stolen school supplies and empty plastic bags were all found inside the Harlingen woman TMs purse.
Lopez appeared before San Benito Municipal Court Judge David Garza where she was issued a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.

Harlingen CISD officials said anyone in need of or wishing to donate school supplies or clothes can do so through the district's Parental Involvement Center.
