It all happened inside the university library on Tuesday afternoon.

The UTPA Police Department reports that the student was on the second floor of the library when a man started speaking to her.

Investigators told Action 4 News that the idle conversation took a violent turn when he grabbed her cell phone and punched her in the stomach before fleeing the scene.

      The suspect is described as:

Possibly white male Between the age of 30-40 Long black pulled back hair Wearing khaki pants and black t-shirt UTPA police are asking students and staff to be aware of their surroundings at all times.
