A high school is under lockdown following a fight that ended with a student getting stabbed and rushed to the hospital.
It all happened at Palmview High School off North La Homa Road late Thursday morning.
La Joya ISD officials confirmed a fight took place between two students but the altercation ended with one them getting stabbed.
The victim received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
The victim was stabbed with a 2 inch knife that was snuck in to the campus.
He sustained stab wounds to his side and his arm.
"I'm scared. I'm scared for my child now," one parent said.
La Joya ISD police have heightened security at the end of the school year to prevent incidents such as this one.
School district officials said the school was under lockdown and that parents arrived at the school to withdraw their children.
The lockdown was lifted within an hour, but some parents picked up there teens regardless of the lifted lockdown.
School will resume at its normal time for the rest of the school year.
