Students lying leads to lockdown at school in McAllen

Two students trying to get out of trouble are now facing even bigger consequences after their lies caused a school to go under lockdown.

It all happened at Morris Middle School off Trenton Road in north McAllen late Friday afternoon.

McAllen ISD officials said authorities temporarily put the school under lockdown.

Officials said the lockdown was prompted by two students who were in trouble but filed a false report to get out of it.

Investigators discovered what they had reported was false and now both students are facing more serious consequences.
