Sugar Land woman faces additional charges in South Padre Island hit-and-run case
A Sugar Land woman faces three additional charges for her role in a deadly hit-and-run accident during Spring Break on South Padre Island.
Daisy Joy Decker was charged with intoxicated manslaughter with a vehicle, accident involving death and intoxicated assault with a vehicle on Wednesday. Decker is accused of striking six people with her car on March 17 on South Padre Island. Nineteen-year-old Maria Selena Patino died as a result of the hit-and-run accident.
Her bond was set at $55,000 for the additional counts, bringing her total bond to $140,000. Decker remains at the Carrizales Detention Center for processing. She’s scheduled to appear back in court in March.
Decker was previously indicted on nine charges, including manslaughter, five counts of accident involving injury, intoxicated manslaughter with vehicle, accident involving death and intoxicated assault with vehicle, according to Cameron County records.
