Two Edinburg homes go up in smoke. It happened around 6 a.m. Sunday morning on 6000 Pecador Drive.
Edinburg Firefighters said the house was fully engulfed in flames, which had also spread to a neighboring home.
Those living in the neighborhood said they couldn TMt believe their eyes.
"I just woke up and out of nowhere| I saw my mom crying and I woke up really scared, said Viviana Casarez, who witness the fire.
She was at her grandmother TMs house just a few doors up from a home that caught fire early Sunday morning.
"We just saw the fire really up to the sky and we got really scared."
She told us she's never seen anything like this before.
"All of this got really pack with people and a lot of police and a lot of firemen were here," described Casarez.
Edinburg and McAllen firefighters put out the blaze.
An investigator for the Hidalgo County Fire Marshal TMs office said the cause of the fire is suspicious-they believe it may have been arson.
The Fire Marshal told Action 4 that Hidalgo County Deputies responded to a domestic call at the same house before the fire started. They believe the two incidents may be related.
Fire Marshal Juan Martinez said both home are a complete loss with combined damages expected to be between $40,000 to $60,000.
The Hidalgo County Fire Marshal said it TMs an ongoing investigation. They have collected debris samples to be sent to a lab in Austin for further testing.Click here to follow Ashly Custer on Twitter
