A series of surprise inspections by authorities caught dozens of gamblers off-guard at 8-liner arcades in Willacy County.
Officials with the Texas State Comptroller TMs Office led the inspections at two arcades just north of Lyford.
Willacy County Sherriff TMs Department deputies and Willacy County District Attorney TMs Office investigators assisted with the inspections.
Authorities hit the El Toro off Business 77 and the Horseshoe off U.S. Highway 77.
Willacy County Sheriff Larry Spence that some of the machines at the El Toro arcade were found with outdated inspection stickers.
Many of those machines were moved to Willacy County following recent raids in neighboring Cameron County.
Dozens of people were waiting outside to go back into El Toro.
Many people said they came as far as Weslaco and Edinburg to play at the arcades because they have all been shut down in their communities.
