Suspect identified in Weslaco stolen tires murder

Authorities have identified the suspect in a rural Weslaco murder where the victim was gunned down over a set of stolen tires.

Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office deputies reported that 21-year-old Ociel Alberto Castaeda is wanted on a murder charge.

Castaeda is accused of murdering Cristian Gerardo Landa early Sunday morning.

Court records show that Landa allegedly stole tires from Castaeda.

Investigators reported that Castaeda went looking for Landa and guned him down with an AK-47.

Witnesses told deputies that they saw Castaeda fleeing the scene with a high-powered rifle.

Castaeda may have fled to Mexico.
