An uncle was jailed accused of threatening his nephew before a kitchen knife was found in his bedroom.
Donald LeRoy Marez is accused of committing the crime of assault family violence/terrorist threat.
The incident happened earlier this week on the 5700 block of Tecuan Drive in Brownsville.
Marez became belligerent and was yelling obscenities at the victim, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by Action 4 News.
The nephew felt threatened which prompted him to look in the kitchen for knives.
That TMs when he noticed one of the knives was missing and went to the suspect TMs room.
A knife was found in the suspect TMs bedroom, police documented.
The Cameron County Sheriff TMs Department was called to the scene.
The victim was struck on his jaw, which caused him to hit a staircase.
He was not transported to the hospital, but police documented the injuries.
Marez was booked into the Cameron County Jail on the two Class A misdemeanor charges.
His bond is currently set at 10,000 for both charges.
